The meeting on October 15 was the best one I ever attended. Many thanks to Past-president Howe and the Program Committee for arranging to have Ken Burns on hand for a tribute to our own World War II veterans! I chatted briefly with Willis Page about his experiences before the meeting started and am truly grateful that he and other living national treasures are still with us.
Ken Burns and his crew are some of our nation's best story-tellers. I will watch the DVD set of "The War" for months and years to come, and remember this meeting. Watching this series is enriching rather than entertaining, and that truly sets it apart from what appears on eleventy-seven other channels.
